Green foliage is topped with voluptuous, deep purple flower spikes that reach up to 4-5 inches long.     Can my variety that I grow have pink -to mauve flowers? THe leaves are pointed, serrated and hairy.

    • They definitely can. Although the other option is that this got crossed up with another plant to produce this quality. Usually the leaves that are purple surround the flower.
